Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Saturday hit out at NCP for its demand to recover expenses on security provided to him and dared the state government to withdraw his police cover.
"NCP has demanded that the government recover expenses on my security. The State Home Minister belongs to NCP and in New Delhi also it is your government. What is stopping you from removing my security cover?" he asked.
"Lakhs of Shiv Sainiks are competent to take care of my security. They are our real shield," Thackeray said in an editorial in Sena mouthpiece Saamna.
NCP spokesperson DP Tripathi had recently demanded that Thackeray, his son Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray pay for the security they avail from the government.
