Irked over Mumbai Congress leader and former state minister Kripashankar Singh's criticism of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, the Sena has warned that it would paint the map of Maharashtra beneath Singh's ears.

Irked over Mumbai Congress leader and former state minister Kripashankar Singh's criticism of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, the Sena has warned that it would "paint the map of Maharashtra beneath Singh's ears".

"If Kripashankar continues to insult the Sena chief, we will paint the map of Maharashtra beneath his ears," Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut said after Singh on Sunday attributed Thackeray's outburst against him to 'frustration over loss of all six Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai'.

Kripashankar should remember that his (Mumbai Congress) office is just five minutes from the Hutatma Chowk memorial for 105 martyrs who died for united Maharashtra, Raut said.

Reacting to Thackeray's attack on him in a recent editorial in party mouthpiece Saamana, Singh had said that the Sena chief's remarks showed his frustration over the Congress-led combine winning all seats in Mumbai.

The editorial had warned Congress leaders against deriving political mileage by encouraging influx of North Indians into the metropolis.

Saamana had flayed Singh's reported statement that the clean sweep made by Congress in Mumbai was a "revenge" taken by North Indians.

It also assailed Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam's statement that the Mumbai result was the outcome of North Indians' support and that nobody can prevent their entry into the city.
