Abdul Rehman Vanoo (47), an Indian engineer and businessman from Doha, Qatar, has come forward to support Slumdog Millionaire child actor Rubina.
"When I saw the media reports on Rubina I felt like I had to do something for her and so I went to her home on Tuesday at 11.30 am. The NGO I work with Anjuman Ithihad Muthaheed helped me find her. I am a chairman of this NGO which deals with educating our countrymen.
"We will support her education and everything that she needs. Even if she wants to learn medicine in the United Kingdom, we will support her. She has shown the willingness to study," added Vanoo.
He further said that there are 27 million Indians working abroad and if even 50 per cent of them come forward to help then 30 million more of our underprivileged citizens will be educated. He also will finance any of Rubina's siblings.
