The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation will soon begin developing a 13,000 square metre sea-facing plot in Vashi into a park that will have special facilities for members of all age groups
Parks are perhaps the only spaces that have the unique power to attract members of each and every age groupu00a0-- from pint-sized toddlers to those wizened with age. Keeping this universality of parks in mind, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is planning to develop a sprawling plot into a state-of-the-art park along the sea-coast in Vashi. The USP of the park will be that it will cater to the various stages of human life - from childhood, adolescence, adulthood to old age. The garden will be developed on a 13,000 square metre plot along the coastline, in sector VIII of Vashi.

requirements of the age group that it caters to. The garden will also have
a jogging track, an amphitheatre, a music deck and music fountain, a
yoga centre, a skating track and flower gardens
Chandrakant Tayade, administrative officer of the Horticulture Department at NMMC, said, "In a bid to build a garden with advanced facilities, we are going to use the latest technology in developing the garden. The garden will be divided into four parts, based on the four stages of human life. So persons from all age groups can enjoy themselves in this garden."
What is special about this garden is that each of the sections of the garden will be built keeping in mind the unique requirements of the age group that it caters to. The garden will also be plied with a jogging track, an amphitheatre, a music deck and music fountain, a yoga centre, a skating track, and flower gardens.
The estimated budget for the park will be around Rs 90 lakh. "In the section dedicated to childhood, we will build contraptions for kids to play with. For elderly people, we will build a library and an entertainment centre. Apart from this, various other facilities will be built using the latest technology. Also, a part of the garden will be developed as a chowpatty, similar to the ones in Mumbai, where gourmands can enjoy all kinds of food," said a deputy engineer of NMMC.
It will take only about a year for the park to be built. "We have planned to build the garden in a year's time. We have appointed a consultant, who has given us the design after studying the feasibility of the project. Construction will be begin in a few days, and we are hoping to complete work in a year's time," said the deputy engineer.
