Speeding truck mows down two Mumbai girls

Two sisters, aged five and nine, were killed in Mumbra, when a speeding truck ran over them at 5.30 am on Saturday.

Another three, Nano Ramesh Jadhav, 9, cousin of the deceased sisters, Soni Ashwini Sonwane, 18, a neighbour and Meenabai Nikumb, 40, were severely injured. Deepak Laxman Nikumb, the father of the deceased girls, had left them at a bus stand in Reti Bunder Road, so as to arrange for a vehicle. The driver of the truck, Danbahadur Verma, 32, has been arrested under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code.
