State govt chalks out action plan to tackle global warming

The Maharahtra Government will be forming an action plan to tackle the impact of climate change and global warming in the state, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said today.


The Maharahtra Government will be forming an action plan to tackle the impact of climate change and global warming in the state, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said today.

"The state action plan is in concurrence with the National Action Plan and we have sanctioned Rsu00a01 crore for the programme," Chavan said.

The Energy Research Institute, headed by eminent scientist R K Pachauri, will carry out studies and advise the state government regarding the implementation of policy in various sectors to ensure their impact on the environment, he said
