The police said they had found old injury marks on Pratyusha Banerjee’s body that suggest she was tortured; court rejected Rahul Raj Singh’s anticipatory bail plea
Among the several arguments they made against granting Rahul Raj Singh bail, the police said they had found old injury marks on his girlfriend and TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee's body, which might indicate that she was tortured by Rahul, ultimately pushing her to commit suicide.

The Dindoshi Session Court rejected Rahul's anticipatory bail application (ABA) yesterday.
The defence advocates, Zameer Khan and Vikas Singh Goar, are likely to move the Bombay High Court against the order on Monday.
The court was packed, with Pratyusha's parents Shoma and Shankar Banerjee, as well as several family friends attending the hearing. Rahul, on the other hand, was not present. His lawyers said that he was still in hospital undergoing treatment.

The prosecution told the court that statements of 14 witnesses had been recorded by the police, and added that these witnesses said Pratyusha ended her life because she was fed up with the frequent fights between her and Rahul. Through these statements, it had emerged that Rahul used to doubt Pratyusha was having an affair with her ex-boyfriend or other friends. The witnesses had also told the police that he used to abuse her mentally and physically.
Things got worse when Pratyusha learnt that Rahul was cheating on her with his ex-girlfriend Saloni Sharma, said Pratyusha's lawyer. The couple would fight often Rahul would beat her, the prosecution argued, adding that Rahul's ex-girlfriend had also abused Pratyusha to make her leave Rahul.
Over allegations that Rahul took control of Pratyusha's earnings, police informed the court that they had written letters to the bank asking for details of all transactions. The Bangur Nagar police said they have also been keeping track of Rahul's health (See âMedical Report').
