Parent of a management course aspirant was allegedly cheated here into paying Rs 19 lakh to two persons, who promised to secure admission to his wards in a city college, police said on Tuesday.
In a complaint filed by Girish Ramkishan Ghabda, the accused - Shashi Shekhar Sharma (35) and Sunit Sharma (28) had promised seats in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) course for Ghabda's son and for his friend's two daughters at KJ Somaiya College here, they said.
Believing the duo, Ghabda, who hails from Jaipur, paid Rs 19 lakh to them for the admissions, police said. Both Sunit and Shashi are absconding, they said adding search is on to nab them.
