Marie Trinidade, mother of Blossom Rodrigues (29), who was injured in the bomb blast, said, "All the bills were paid by the government and we did not have to pay a single penny. Blossom was also given Rs 50, 000 as compensation from the state. The state has done its bit, but we are yet to hear from the central government."
Awaiting money
Lata Shewade (51), a resident of Pratiksha Nagar, who was admitted to the KEM hospital on Thursday evening, said she had not received compensation from either the state or the central government.
Rather than being taken to the hospital after the blasts, she was taken home by her son and then to their local physician for a check-up. Shewade said, "When my son came to know that the blast victims were admitted to KEM, we came to the hospital on Thursday. I had a hearing problem and some injuries to my left arm."
Her son, Arun, said, "My mother was supposed to be discharged on Sunday, but doctors say they will discharge her after her ear test results come out. We haven't received compensation and are being made to pay for the treatment"
