What happens when a school doesn't give its students a holiday on Ganesh Chaturthi? Members from Shiv Sena land up at the gates and voila the principal declares an off.
The drama unfolded on Thursday when BD Somani's international wing decided to work. Members of the south Mumbai division of Shiv Sena landed up at the school gates after they received a call from some parents claiming the principal had called students despite it being Ganesh Chaturthi.
Pandurang Sakpal, the head of the south Mumbai division of Shiv Sena, said, "We got calls from parents alleging that students were asked to attend the classes."
Sakpal added that he with 20 Sainiks reached the school and demanded to meet the principal.u00a0 Sakpal claims that he gave in to their demands and a holiday was declared.

Don Gardner, principal of BD Somani said, "Yes, men from Shiv Sena had come to school. We did not intend to hurt people's sentiments and from now onwards will give Ganesh Chaturthi as a holiday."
