Sion police, have arrested two individuals for brutally assaulting a labourer for entering a building premises. Cops allege that the victim Jidendra Kumar, being new in the city wasn't aware of the locality
Sion police, on Tuesday have arrested two individuals for brutally assaulting a labourer for entering a building premises. Cops allege that the victim Jidendra Kumar, being new in the city wasn't aware of the locality, so he randomly entered Patel building in GTB Nagar.
As the victim was entering the building, he was noticed by the two accused Hemant Chedda and Vikas Birade who then took matter in their own hands and assaulted the victim with a stick.
An officer from Sion police station said, "A video has gone viral since yesterday, where two people are seen assaulting a labourer, due to which the matter reached police station. On the basis of the complaint filed by the labourer, we registered an FIR and the duo were arrested. Although, they did the right thing by stopping him enter a random premises due to the fear robbery cases or house breaking, they shouldn't have beaten him. They should have called the police instead.
The two accused has been booked under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 325 (punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
The two shall be produced in court by late afternoon.
