A day after the Home Ministry put all major nuclear energy plants on high alert, it was revealed that David Coleman Headley stayed a few blocks away fromu00a0Department of Atomic Research Centre (DARC) colony, Breach Candy which is home to a number of scientists.u00a0

Headley stayed on the fifth floor of Shyam Nivas building, just 200 metres away from the colony.

The FBI had informed the Centre on Tuesdayu00a0that Headley had visited states having atomic facilties and the alert specially mentioned Trombay's Bhabha Atomic Research Centre as a possible target.

Interestingly, 300 to 400 metres away from Headley's apartment is the US consulate, which investigating agencies believe could also be a terror target.

However, the Mumbai police refused to comment on the subject.

There are six major nuclear energy plants in India Narora in Uttar Pradesh, Kaiga in Karnataka, Tarapur in Maharashtra, Kalpakkam in Tamil Nadu, Kakrapar in Gujarat and Kota in Rajasthan,u00a0 apart from nuclear facilities.
