The first week of October is observed as the National Wildlife Week.

On the occasion, Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) authorities along with Mumbaikars for SGNP have organised a media workshop on October 5 between 8 am and 1 pm. It will start with a nature trail led by a naturalist and will be followed by an interactive session on the human-leopard conflict.

The assistant conservator of forest along with other researchers working in the area will address the session. Man-animal clashes have increased over the last decade, mainly due to the fast-disappearing forest cover and rising encroachments.
