Jitendra Machhar’s entire family has deleted the app
Two days after mid-day reported about the glitches in the central government's Aarogya Setu app showing a Ghatkopar resident as COVID positive months after recovery, officials rectified the error. On Thursday, the app finally showed 51-year-old interior designer Jitendra Machhar as COVID negative.
Machhar told mid-day, "For the past eight months, I had been in trouble and complained many times through the app's grievance redressal system. But they were not rectifying the mistake. I was not able to go anywhere.
"I have suffered a lot of loss, both in terms of business and personally, due to the application's error. After mid-day published the article, I contacted the app via email again. Suddenly, my status changed from positive to negative on Thursday." Machhar had contracted COVID in May, 2020 but continued to be shown as positive in the app.
Machhar added, "It is a big relief for me and I am grateful to mid-day for highlighting Aarogya Setu's error. Now I can go wherever I want without having to worry. Now I won't be stopped from entering corporate offices."
