An unidentified person, claiming to be a Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer, has sent a letter to Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik, state Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray claiming that NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede and his team have been allegedly framing various people in false cases and in many of them they increased small quantities of drugs seized to commercial quantity by adding the contraband. The letter, a copy of which was shared by Malik on Twitter, gives details of 26 cases registered this year, claiming how people were framed.
The letter also alleges that the cruise ship drugs case is fake and no contraband was seized and everything was planted by NCB officers close to Wankhede. It further claims that no drugs were found on Arbaaz Merchant and the NCB team framed him to get to Aryan Khan. Wankhede is paying money to DDG Mutha Ashok Jain and he ignores any of his "wrong doings", claims the letter. It also seeks an inquiry by a commission against Wankhede and others.
