The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious in the recently concluded Maharashtra gram panchayat elections, securing a significant majority of seats. As per the preliminary results, the BJP has captured more than 724 seats, cementing its position as the dominant party in the state's rural governance.
The BJP's allies, the Shiv Sena's Shinde group and the NCP's Ajit Pawar group, have also made substantial gains in the elections. These results highlight the growing influence of these parties in Maharashtra's political landscape.
In Baramati, which is considered to home turf of the Pawars, Ajit Pawar's group achieved a landslide victory, securing power in 29 out of the 31 contested gram panchayats. The other two seats were won by BJP candidates. This victory comes after extensive discussions following the NCP's split, and it reaffirms Ajit Pawar's stronghold in his home turf.
Shrikant Shinde, son of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, took to X (previously Twitter) to express gratitude to the people for their trust and asserted that the victory is a result of the public's unwavering faith. He also highlighted that this result is an indication of things to come in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

As per online news portals, Shrikant Shinde further pointed out that the previous Thackeray government had confined the Shiv Sena to Mumbai and the surrounding areas. However, under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's leadership, the party has expanded its reach to every village. Despite having fewer legislators in the places where elections were held, the party performed remarkably well. These results underscore the public's endorsement of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition.
The BJP state president, Chandrasekhar Bawankule, also took to X (previously Twitter) and thanked the party leadership and the party workers, "In this election, Bharatiya Janata Party performed strongly and secured the number 1 position. Full credit for this success goes to all the workers and officials of BJP. Due to their tireless efforts, BJP has reached not only in villages but also in every home and today's result has once again proved this."
