CM Shinde at Varsha during flag hoisting ceremony/ CMO
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Friday that the state has seized the lead in all sectors, including foreign direct investment (FDI) and infrastructure, and has emerged as the country's economic engine.
According to a report in PTI, CM Shinde talking to reporters on the occasion of India's 75th Republic Day, said his government is inclusive and will contribute USD 1 trillion towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of making India a 5 trillion dollar economy.
CM Shinde hoisted the tricolour at his official residence Varsha in South Mumbai. Present for the flag-hoisting were officials and employees.
The statement from the Chief Minister's Office stated that he wished the people of Maharashtra on Republic Day. The statement further said that the National Anthem and State Anthem on behalf of the Maharashtra Police Force.

Taking to social media, the CM wrote, "On the occasion of Republic Day today, at Varsha residence flag was hoisted. Best wishes to all on the golden jubilee of the country, Republic Day. He also expressed his belief that India is stepping on new horizons on the path of progress and Maharashtra will have the largest share in it. On this occasion, all the officers, policemen and employees of the Chief Minister's office were present."
He then shared snippets from the Republic Day event held at Mumbai's Shivaji Park. He took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "On the occasion of the Republic Day of India today, the flag was hoisted by the Governor Mr Ramesh Bais in a program organized at Chhatrapati Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Attended this occasion and saluted the flag. People's representatives, administrative officers, police officers, employees and citizens were present on this occasion."
India celebrates its Republic Day on January 26 every year as the constitution came into effect on the date in 1950.
