After 54 days of treatment, Darius Pandole, who was in the vehicle with former Tata Sons Chairman Cyrus Mistry at the time of the accident which claimed his life, was finally discharged from the hospital on Friday. Dr Anahita Pandole, who also got injured in the accident on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway, is still recovering in the hospital.
The accident took place on September 4 when the couple were returning to Mumbai along with Mistry and Jehangir Pandole. Dr Anahita was driving the car while her husband was in the front passenger seat. Mistry and Jehangir, who were in the backseat, died on the spot after the car hit the divider at Surya river bridge. The couple sustained grievous injuries and were taken to Rainbow Hospital in Vapi.

The next day, both were shifted to HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. A statement released by HN Reliance Foundation Hospital stated that Darius underwent surgery on his forearm and a maxillofacial surgery on September 8. He was also battling infection due to the severity of his injuries.
Dr Anahita underwent pelvic reconstruction surgery on September 15 and is currently taking physiotherapy at the hospital. Dr Tarang Gianchandani, CEO of the hospital, said, "The injuries were very complex and therefore our best team of multidisciplinary doctors is working closely on the Pandoles. Advice was sought from experts across the globe to define the best course of action for their treatment and that has enabled us to achieve results."
