The five-day-long Diwali festival is about to begin tomorrow, October 22. Diwali begins with Dhanteras which is also known as Dhantrayodashi. This year, Dhanteras will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22.
Dhanteras 2022: History and Significance
It is to be believed that on the day of Dhantrayodashi, Goddess Lakshmi came out of the ocean during the churning of the milky sea. Hence, Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped on Dhanteras. Along with Devi Laxmi, Lord Kuber - the God of wealth, is also worshipped on this auspicious day.
