The Jivesh building sits close to Mannat, home of actor Shah Rukh Khan
A fire broke out in a 21-storey residential tower at Bandra's Bandstand on Monday evening. The building is located on Bandstand road near Mannat bungalow, which is home to actor Shah Rukh Khan. The cause is yet to be known, said officials. There were no reports of anyone being injured at the time of going to press. Six residents and a pet had been rescused till 10 pm, said officials.
The blaze started on the 14th floor of Jivesh building around 7.45 pm, said an official from the Mumbai Fire Brigade. Officials said eight fire engines and seven water tankers were pressed into service. It took hours to bring the fire under control.
After reaching the spot, Fire Brigade officials declared it a Level-2 fire. Fires are graded on a scale of one to five where five is the highest magnitude. Firefighters apart, the police were also involved in the operation to douse the fire.

On April 21, a fire had broken out in a seven-storey building in Khar West. It was the second fire in one year in the same building - Nathan Villa. Though there were no injuries, four people were rescued from the terrace. Another incident of fire was reported in a building - Vitthal Niwas - at Jacob Circle, Saat Rasta in Byculla on March 25. At this spot, residents were rescued through windows.
