Maharashtra Industries Minister and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Uday Samant expressed confidence that the NDA will form the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will retain his power. He also claimed that the Mahayuti alliance would win all the seats in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), reported news agency PTI.

"The NDA will form the government and Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister again. Congress first said they would not participate in the exit poll debates, but when we said that they had already lost, they decided to participate in the debates out of shame. However, they are bound to lose," Uday Samant said, reported PTI.

Reacting to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's statement that the INDIA bloc will win more than 295 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, Samant claimed that only the NDA will form the government.

"Kharge made the statement to prevent their party workers and leaders from leaving and to boost their morale. On June 4, everything will become clear, and PM Narendra Modi will retain his power," he said, reported PTI.

Reacting to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anil Desai's statement that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will get 30-35 seats in the India General Elections 2024, Samant said that Desai is set to lose the seat he is contesting.

"The Mahayuti alliance will win the constituency from which Anil Desai is contesting in Mumbai South Central. In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the Mahayuti will win all the seats, and in the Konkan belt, including Raigad and Ratnagiri, the Mahayuti will also win. The Mahayuti will form the government in the next state polls as well," he added, reported PTI.

The MMR has 10 Lok Sabha constituencies. This includes six seats in Mumbai, along with Palghar, Thane, Kalyan and Bhiwandi.

The voting for the 543-member, Lok Sabha was held across seven phases. Votes will be counted on June 4.

Earlier, as the 7th Phase of polling in India General Elections 2024 wrapped up, the Election Commission of India thanked all stakeholders: voters, polling personnel, security forces, media, and political parties. Polling for the earlier six phases of Lok Sabha elections was held on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, and May 25.
