Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said on Wednesday that the Lok Sabha election results have shown that the Bharatiya Janata Party can be defeated, reported PTI. Uddhav met his party candidates who won the polls.
Shiv Sena (UBT) winners Rajabhau Prakash Waje (from Nashik seat) and Sanjay Dina Patil (Mumbai North East) met former Maharashtra chief minister Thackeray at his residence in Mumbai on Wednesday, a day after the announcement of the poll results.
"The elections have shown that the BJP can be defeated. The myth (that it cannot be defeated) has been broken," Thackeray said.
As per the PTI report, Thackeray met his party's Mumbai South seat winner Arvind Sawant and Mumbai South Central seat winner Anil Desai on Tuesday.

In polls to the 543-member Lok Sabha, the BJP won 240 seats, falling short of a majority on its own.
The BJP is poised to form the government with the support of its allies.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) won nine seats in the Lok Sabha polls.
All newly elected party leaders from outside Mumbai are expected to meet Thackeray on Wednesday, as per the PTI report.

Voters witnessed a neck-to-neck fight between Maha Vikas Aghadi and Mahayuti in Mumbai and Mumbai Metropolitan region as they vied for political supremacy. The results for all 10 seats of the Mumbai and MMR region are out with the Maha Vikas Aghadi winning big in the Mumbai Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Maharashtra recorded a voter turnout of 61.33 per cent in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in five phases from April 19 to May 20.
As many as 5,70,06,778 voters out of 9,29,43,890 exercised their franchise in the five phases across Maharashtra. At 71.88 per cent, polling in the Gadchiroli-Chimur constituency was the highest, while Mumbai South registered the lowest turnout at 50.06 per cent.
