Police 'patils' (a village level liaison person for the police) in Maharashtra's Palghar district will be given blue jackets as a mark of identification, Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil said on Friday.
Patil, who came up with the idea, said it is a first for any police unit in the state.

He also oversaw a training programme for 244 police 'patils' in the district during the day.
