Considering a tug-of-war between the NDA allies, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) will be preparing to go solo in the state Assembly elections. MNS had given NDA unconditional support for the Lok Sabha but hasn't given any commitment for the state polls.

On Thursday, party president Raj Thackeray was given yet another five-year term in office by the party's rank and file. Party's former MLA Bala Nandgaonkar confirmed the preparedness for the state elections.

Insiders said Raj analysed the general elections for them. The party chief said that an understanding of Uddhav Thackeray that the Marathi people had voted for him was completely wrong. Raj added it was anti-Modi votes that went to Sena (UBT) and the people were still angry with Uddhav and were waiting for MNS.

The chief wanted the cadre to prepare in 200 to 225 seats (out of 288). Raj asked the party leaders and workers to not think much about the NDA and MVA and to wait for his word.
