(Left) City Cong chief Bhai Jagtap and Bandra East MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui
In yet another complaint to party national president Sonia Gandhi, Bandra East legislator Zeeshan Siddiqui has demanded action against Mumbai Congress chief Bhai Jagtap for abusing him on the communal lines during a programme on November 14.
Siddiqui has been at loggerheads with Jagtap ever since the latter took over the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee's charge. In a fresh letter to Gandhi on November 15, he said Jagtap did not allow him to accompany the party's senior leaders inside Dadar's Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial âRajgruha'.
"Being one of the four Congress MLAs of Mumbai and the president of Mumbai Youth Congress, my name wasn't on the list. The police officials were letting me go through as I am an elected representative as well. When Bhai Jagtap ji saw this, he rushed out and said, "no one else can come in, MLA VMLA jo bhi ho sab bahar out!" he wrote.
Siddiqui complained, when asked why he was insulting him, Jagtap said, "ha jo Karna hai kar, tereko acha nahi lag raha hai toh bhaad me jaa". He added that Jagtap lost his cool and got physical with him when he was asked again outside the memorial about the insult.

Dismissing the allegations against him as baseless, Jagtap wondered why his name was being dragged unnecessarily in the episode though he was not involved. "Whatever seemed to have happened, happened between the workers of the youth wing of the party. I was not involved in any way," he told mid-day, adding that he would not like to give much importance to the allegations made against him.
