Mumbai cops arrest 3 for live streaming pornographic material on mobile app

Three individuals were arrested by the Versova police on Saturday for live-streaming porn on a mobile application called Pihu. The accused included two women and a man who were accepting subscriptions from viewers. The accused have been identified as Tanisha Rajesh Kanojia, 20, a resident of Andheri East, Rudra Narayan Raut, 27, a resident of Bhayandar East, and Tamanna Arif Khan, 34, a resident of Andheri East.

According to Versova police, all accused were involved in live-streaming sexual videos on the Pihu app. The videos were being filmed at Kanojia's residence. Subscriptions to view the content cost Rs 1,000 to Rs 7,000 per subscriber. On Saturday, November 4, Versova police received information about individuals streaming explicit videos on Pihu app. The information also included the claim that the accused women enticed people to subscribe to the live streaming of sexual content.

A team led by Senior Police Inspector (PI) Ganesh Pawar, along with PI Sachin Shirke, cyber officer Police Sub Inspector (PSI) PSI Manoj Hawle, detection officer PSI Nagesh Misal, woman PSI Archana Koli, woman constables Aawari and Chavan, and constable Kinjalkar raided Kanojia's residence in Andheri on Saturday. All three accused were apprehended during the raid.

Pawar said, "The accused were live-streaming sexual content on the Pihu official application and attracting viewers to subscribe for Rs 1,000 to Rs 7,000. It was found that all three accused appeared in the live videos. They also planned to telecast a significant sexual show on the application this month. We are currently searching for the owner and operator of the Pihu app. We have registered an FIR under Sections 292 (sale, etc., of obscene books, etc) and 293 (sale, etc., of obscene objects to young person) of the Indian Penal Code and under the IT Act."
