A 27-year-old man, who was booked for sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl, was granted bail by a special court under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act after the court considered a video made by the minor who claimed that her mother and stepfather forced her to implicate the accused.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, before lodging a complaint with Dongri police station, the teenager had recorded a video stating that her stepfather used to harass her. However, her mother did not believe her.
In the video, the teenager claimed that her mother made her consume drugs and also forced her to harass the accused. The accused and the teen lived in the same locality and had a physical relationship, a police officer said.
In her complaint, the victim's mother alleged that the accused was a drug addict and that, without his knowledge, the girl started to steal drugs and consume them. The prosecution also alleged that the mother sent her daughter to a rehabilitation centre.
