Relief trains have been moved to the site for restoration. Up and down fast line trains were hit between CSMT-Byculla. Officials said they will try to expedite the removal of the affected coach so that rail traffic could be streamlined as early as possible.
A number of trains are scheduled to leave CSMT station after line restoration and at least two arriving trains are stuck mid-way due to the derailment.
Central Railway chief public relations officer Shivaji Sutar confirmed the development and said that one trolley of the second coach from engine had derailed and engineers are working on its quick restoration.
