Tania Kamble has been admitted to the National Burns Centre
The family of the 18-year-old girl injured in the fire at Vishwas building in Ghatkopar on December 17, has appealed for financial help for her treatment. Tania Kamble received 20 per cent burns to her neck, face, both hands and legs. She was taken to Rajawadi hospital and later shifted to the National Burns Centre at Airoli.
One person died in the fire while three others were injured. As Tania has a lung infection, her oxygen level has gone down and she has been kept on a ventilator at the hospital. The total cost of the treatment so far is around Rs 11 lakh and her father has managed to pay Rs 3.5 lakh.
Her family has been requesting NGOs for financial help. Speaking to mid-day, Sanjay Kamble, Tania's father, who is a trader in pharmaceutical equipment, said, "My daughter's condition is very serious. Our financial situation is not too good. One of my sons also works, but my other son is still studying in HSC. Tania is a topper in a school and dreams of becoming a doctor. Now she is in a hospital. Every day we have been paying Rs 40,000 at the hospital. So far we have paid around Rs 3.5 lakh but require at least around Rs 8 lakh more. We can't raise this amount so we are seeking financial help."

"So far the police haven't registered an FIR against those responsible. No one is bothered. Not even a Kalra Shukla classes team called us and asked about my daughter's condition," Kamble said.
Tania's brother Tushar said, "We appealed on social media and so far have received around R80,931 from 70 people for my sister's medical needs. We are only praying that she recovers soon and returns home."
