A 27-year-old city resident has been arrested for allegedly molesting a woman on a local train, police said on Wednesday, reported news agency PTI.
The incident took place between Dombivli and Ghatkopar stations of the Central Railway's suburban network on Monday evening when the woman, 35, was travelling with her husband in a general compartment, an official said, reported PTI.
Harish Sudula, a resident of suburban Vikhroli, boarded the same compartment in Dombivli and allegedly molested the woman during the journey, reported PTI.
As she raised alarm, her husband and other passengers caught hold of the accused and handed him over to police at Ghatkopar station, reported PTI.

A First Information Report was registered against Sudula under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 354 A (sexual harassment), reported PTI.
The case was then transferred to Dombivli railway police station. The accused was denied bail by a court and he was remanded in judicial custody, the police official said, adding that probe was underway, reported PTI.
Earlier, a 23-year-old woman doctor was molested in the subway of Vashi railway station in Navi Mumbai and a hunt was on for the accused, a police official said on Monday, reported PTI.
The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when the victim was on her way to board a suburban train to Kharghar, he said, reported PTI.
"The 25-year-old man touched her inappropriately and fled from the spot. Based on CCTV footage of the area, a hunt has been launched for the accused," he said, reported PTI.
A case under section 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with the intention of outraging her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Vashi railway police station, the official informed, reported PTI.
Meanwhile, a 45-year-old car driver was arrested on Tuesday, two days after he allegedly molested a 23-year-old woman returning from her Navi Mumbai office in his vehicle, police said, reported PTI.
The incident occurred at around 3 AM on Sunday when the woman was seated in the front seat of the car while her colleague was in the back seat, an official said, reported PTI.
The driver, identified as Rakesh Mishra, allegedly touched the woman inappropriately, following which she raised an alarm. She and her colleague forced the driver to stop the car and approached the police, he said, reported PTI.
Police registered the FIR and arrested Mishra, the official said, adding that further investigation is underway, reported PTI.
