Mumbai Metro One extends operating hours as local trains open for all

For easy access from Metro to suburban stations, railway FOBs at Andheri and Ghatkopar will also be opened, an official said.

After the Maharashtra government allowed the general public on Mumbai local trains starting February 1, the Mumbai Metro One has also announced an extension of its operating hours.

From October 19, 2020, Mumbai Metro One services were opened to all without age or gender restrictions and with strict safety protocols.
At present, Metro services are available with the first train from Versova at 7:50 am and the last train from Ghatkopar at 10:15 pm with weekday ridership at around 80,000.

With the opening of suburban trains for all, the first Metro train from Versova will be at 6:50 am and from Ghatkopar at 7:15 am. The last train from Versova will be at 9:50 pm and Ghatkopar at 10:15 pm. Metro stations will open 15 minutes before the scheduled departure of the first train.

For easy access from Metro to suburban stations, railway FOBs at Andheri and Ghatkopar will also be opened, an official said.
Besides, a new gate will also be opened at Andheri Metro station for commuters who wish to reach Andheri (W) directly.
