The number of vaccines administered in civic-run centres is still low, and private hospitals are immunising most people in the city. On Thursday, out of 70,115 jabs, 56,019 were administered by private centres either in hospitals or in vaccine drives arranged at offices or housing societies.
Out of the 70,115 jabs administered on Thursday, 8,022 were given to senior citizens, 11,939 to people between 45 and 59 years and 49,852 were given to people between 18 and 44 years. Only 18 lactating mothers and 6 students about to travel internationally were vaccinated. Out of 49,852 young people, 853 received the second dose at civic run centres.
Though the Sputnik vaccine has arrived in Mumbai, it wasn't administered on Thursday. Out of total 43,26,427 doses administered till date, 3,09,702 were Covaxin and 907 were Sputnik, the rest were Covishield.
Vaccination was done only after online registration on Thursday.
