The owner of Sion's iconic Gurukripa restaurant, Vishindas Wadhwa (76) passed away late on Wednesday night.
The restaurant is best known since 1967 for its delicious samosas and chhole tikkis. Gurukripa was shut on Thursday, with a board outside the restaurant reading: "As Vishan Wadhwa has left for his heavenly abode, we will be shut down. Today closed."

The eatery in Sion has been visited by nervy college students since time immemorial, as well as by celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar.
Wadhwa passed away late on Wednesday night and the restaurant was closed for mourning on Thursday, but in all likeliness, will reopen later this week. His last rites were performed at Sion crematorium.
