Congress launched a "rail roko" protest against the Talathi recruitment process in Mumbai, demanding a comprehensive investigation into the matter through a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
As part of their demonstration, Congress activists initiated a "Rail Roko" (train blockade) protest, leading to disruptions in Mumbai local train services at Dadar Railway Station. The Youth Congress members climbed onto platforms, obstructing trains en route to Virar.
The protest resulted in chaos at Dadar Railway Station, prompting the deployment of police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel to restore order.
The demonstration significantly affected the daily commute of Mumbai residents, causing delays of approximately 40 to 50 minutes in the suburban railway schedule.

Meanwhile, a Western Railway PRO said that at approximately 15:00 hours, a sudden protest by 8 to 10 demonstrators halted the Borivali local train on Platform No. 01 at Dadar Railway Station. This disruption affected the Borivali local train with service number 90557, causing it to stand at Dadar Platform No. 01 from 15:18 to 15:28.
"Immediate action was taken by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, who escorted the protestors to the Dadar post. The Government Railway Police (GRP) is actively involved in taking further steps against the demonstrators."
The PRO said the situation has normalized, and the suburban local train services of Western Railways are running smoothly.
The Maharashtra Youth Congress posted on social media platform, X that "in opposition to the paper leak and as a mark of protest against the Talathi recruitment, Youth Congress leaders initiated a "Rail Roko" agitation at Dadar Railway Station." Scores of Youth Congress activists were present during the rail roko protest.
