Security has been beefed up at railway stations and other vital installations across Mumbai after railway police received a phone call from a caller informing the security agency about possible bomb attack in Mumbai. The number starts with +97 and caller claims that the location is Dubai. A Mumbai Crime Branch team has started investigation.
According to information received from GRP Police, on Saturday evening, Bandra Railway Police Station received a call from an unidentified person who said, "I heard that there is going to be a possible bomb attack in Mumbai. I am giving you information as an aware citizen."
Sources say, after the call, cops traced the caller and it was found that the call was made from Dubai. The source told mid-day, "The caller is a resident of Kandivli, Mumbai and works in Dubai. He has made this call from Dubai itself."
Commissioner of Government Railway Police (GRP) Quaiser Khalid on Saturday night tweeted, "An information about possible bomb attack in Mumbai has been received today telephonically by Bandra RPS. The caller has been contacted. Security has been beefed up. All sister agencies have been informed. We are enquiring into the matter. No need to panic or worry."

The Mumbai police are co-ordinating with GRP police and trying to find out more information on the alleged suspects. City crime branch's Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) officials would also carry out a parallel enquiry as the specialised unit looks into all major bomb threat/hoax calls.
