Seven people were injured after a dumper allegedly dashed a private car near Santacruz-Chembur Link Road, on Saturday. All the injured people, except the driver are employees of a state bank.
When car was descending from Santacruz-Chembur Link Road, a dumper allegedly dashed the car resulting in accident. Tilak Nagar cops have booked the driver of the dumper.
The incident occurred at midnight of August 11 when Sanjay Rajat (36), a driver on rental car, picked up six bank employees from Malad. He was told by his employer that, he has to take them to Bhimashankar in Pune. Around 12 am, when the car was descending from the Santacruz-Chembur Link road, the car was dashed by a dumper from behind. Rajat immediately slowed down the car to check what has happened resulting in the dumper again dashing to the car.
"The impact was of such magnitude that, the car turned and dashed to a electric pole leaving all the occupant of the car injured" said an official from Tilak Nagar police station. "The driver of the dumper having number MH-04-KF-4511 ran away after the accident from the spot" he added.

Due to accident, Rajat sustained injured on right leg and waist and passenger Nikita Kharpende (25) sustained grievous entire to right ear and injury to her head, Dilip Chikane (27) sustained injury on right hip. While other occupants Priti Ranjan MA (29), Rajat MA, Raj Nandan Rai (29), Sanjay Dahiya (28) sustained minor injuries. Nikita and Dilip were rushed to Rajawadi Hospital for further treatment.
"As per the complaint we have booked the dumper driver, he is identified as Sunny Bapudeo (21) and booked under IPC section 279 (rash driving), 338 (causing gracious hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and relevant sections of Motor Vehicle act 1988" said Deepak Bagul, Senior Inspector of Tilak Nagar police station.
