The vehicle responsible for the accident
A College student, 19, was killed and several people were injured after an out-of-control BMC sewage-cleaning vehicle collided with four vehicles on the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road on Tuesday morning.
The driver of the BMC vehicle, Rajendra Kondur, has been arrested by the Jogeshwari police.
The incident occurred around 8 am near the Western Express Highway. The complainant, Suresh Villari, 55, who works as a deputy manager in a private Malad-based firm, was headed to his office in his Maruti Suzuki Baleno when the BMC vehicle hit his car from the rear. Villari stated that though he was injured, his situation would have been direr had the airbag of his car not opened in time. A traffic warden who was standing nearby rushed him to the hospital.

The deceased teenager, Anish Sunil Lad, who was on his motorbike at the time, died on the spot.
Lad, a resident of JB Nagar in Andheri East was heading toward Thakur College of Engineering and Technology in Kandivali East, said an officer of the Jogeshwari police station.
"We caught the driver on the spot. Kondur has been booked and arrested under various sections of the IPC and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The accused has been produced in court and remanded in judicial custody," said Senior Inspector Satish Tawre.
