Mumbai University's NAAC grade now valid till 2028

The University of Mumbai's (MU) A++ grade by National Accreditation and Assessment Board (NAAC) will now be valid for seven years, as opposed to the regular duration of five years.

Recently, the University scored the highest grades in the state with total marks of 3.65 CGPA in the NAAC grading. According to reports, it became the best-rated public university in the state so far. The University's accreditation of A++ will be valid till 2028.

"It is a matter of great pride for the University of Mumbai, one of the oldest and leading universities in the country, to receive the highest rating of A++ grade from NAAC. The seven-year extension of accreditation to the University of Mumbai is a huge credit and an honour for its outstanding performance in the five-star category achieved in 2001 and the highest-ranked 'A' status achieved in 2012," Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Suhas Pednekar said.

"With a seven-year extension instead of five, the university will now be eligible for Grade One Autonomy as well as University with Excellence. At the same time, the New Education Policy will underline the university's position as a 'Research University'," he added.
