Dr Tupe had overdosed on a cocktail of muscle relaxants
Investigation into the death of a doctor from Nair hospital has revealed that he died by suicide over a break-up with his girlfriend. On the day Dr Bhimsandesh Tupe was found dead in his hostel room, she messaged him to inform that she was marrying the person chosen by her parents.
Aurangabad resident Dr Tupe and the 27-year-old woman from Nagpur fell in love while studying MBBS together, police said. Later, he joined Nair hospital for further studies and she moved back to Nagpur, but they continued their relationship, they added.
However, on February 15, he received a text from her. "My family has fixed my marriage, now I will not be able to meet you," the message read.
He responded, "Your family members have fixed your marriage, so you marry, I will never bother you now but you will never be forgotten."
