A boy was electrocuted after coming in contact with metal scaffolding outside a housing society in Airoli on Monday. The scaffolding was touching a high tension wire of 11,000 volts.
The incident occurred at around 8.30 am. The boy, while walking on the footpath, touched the metal scaffolding outside Shiv Shankar Plaza 2. The boy died on the spot.
According to the police, the boy used to sell garbage bags at a nearby signal.
The Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) officials clarified that no permission was taken before putting the mental scaffolding near the high tension wires.
