The body of a 23-year-old woman has been found in a river in Maharashtra's Palghar district, two days after she went missing, police told PTI on Tuesday.
The woman, identified as Pooja Dubey, went missing from Nalasopara area on August 11 following which her father lodged a complaint with Tulinj police, an official from Boisar police station told PTI.
The complaint stated the woman went to take classes at a coaching centre in the afternoon, but did not return home, the official told PTI.
On August 13, some villagers while fishing spotted the body floating in the Vaitarna river and alerted the police, he said.

The police sent the body for postmortem and registered a case of accidental death, the official said.
A probe was on into the case, the official told PTI.
Meanwhile, a doctor and one more person have been booked for abetment of suicide in Navi Mumbai after a woman ended her life in a hospital over allegations of stealing money, a police official told PTI on Monday.
The woman, identified as Jarina Rehman Shah, was working in the hospital of the accused for 10 years and she was held captive at the facility after being accused of stealing Rs 10,000, the Nerul police station official told PTI.
"The 33-year-old woman hanged herself on Monday afternoon while on duty at the hospital after which an abetment to suicide case was registered against the doctor and one more person on the complaint of her kin," he said.
"Instead of informing police about the woman's death in the hospital, the accused took the body to another hospital in Koparkhairane. No arrest has been made and a probe is underway," he said.
In another incident, a 63-year-old woman was killed with an axe allegedly by her estranged husband in Shambhu Nagar area of Nagpur, a police official told PTI on Monday.
Mukulkumari Sinha was killed with a blow to her head by her husband Purushottam Sinha (66) on Sunday morning, the Koradi police station official said.
"She is a retired Kendriya Vidyalaya teacher. The couple was having a long-standing dispute and stayed on different floors of their house, while their two children reside in Delhi and Mumbai. She had even filed a case against him last year," the official told PTI.
