In a tragic turn of events, Sudhir More, a prominent leader of the Shiv Sena's Thackeray faction, was found dead on the railway tracks near Ghatkopar railway station during the early hours of Friday. More, who was a former corporator and the Sampark Pramukh (communication chief) for Ratnagiri district, had left his home alone the previous night, telling his bodyguard that he was attending a meeting. However, when he failed to return post-midnight, a search was initiated, and he was ultimately found dead near the tracks.
Railway police suspect it may be a case of suicide, and an Accidental Death Report has been filed as an investigation is underway. Sudhir More had started his political career in the Vikhroli Parksite area and was a devoted supporter of Uddhav Thackeray. He had successfully contested and won the Corporation election from Shiv Sena. With significant influence in the Konkan belt, More had been appointed as the Sampark Pramukh for Ratnagiri district.
"On Thursday night, he left his home in Vikhroli and informed his bodyguard that he was going to a meeting. He didn't even take his vehicle, choosing to travel by auto. After several hours passed without his return, his family began searching for him," stated an official from Kurla Government Railway Police.
