You could soon stream high-quality content, including movies, television shows and music on your device while commuting on Mumbai's local trains.
The project is expected to be operational in the next two to three months and the process of installing equipment has been completed on 10 local trains.
"Ten local trains have been fitted with the equipment and totally, 165 of them on Central Railway (CR) will be getting it. The installation is under process," said CR's chief public relations officer Shivaji Sutar.
"The entire process shall be made operational for the public in the next two to three months," an official said.

Explaining how the system will work, the official said commuters will be able to access the movies and TV shows on their personal devices once inside the train through an app. It will consist of both free and paid content, the official added.
"Content-on-demand services, a non-fare revenue monetisation service, is basically being provided to improve the overall commuting experience and at the same time, get revenue. Audio and video content will be made available on all personal devices through an app which will only work in these 165 trains and at selected hubs on railway premises," the official added. The commuters will have to download an app called Sugar Box.
Besides local trains, the service has also been provided on the Chennai Express train.
On the Western Railway, the air-conditioned local train and the Mumbai Delhi Rajdhani Express have been on the list.
A few years ago, a similar experimental project had been tried on the Harbour Line where secure TV screens had been fitted inside local trains and had been successful as a free-to-air mode.
