A 27-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly attacking and injuring four policemen in Maharashtra's Thane district, an official told news agency PTI on Monday.
The city police on Sunday arrested Aniket Mhatre, a resident of Alibag, for the attack that occurred on September 23, the official told PTI.
A trailer was on its way to Nhava Sheva around 10 pm on September 23, when three persons intercepted it at Mankoli Naka, beat up the driver and stole Rs 3,500 from him, sub-inspector Santosh Shinde told PTI.
Two accused jumped out of the vehicle and escaped, while the third accused Mhatre proceeded towards Saket bridge in the trailer, the official told PTI.

When the police came to the driver's rescue, Mhatre allegedly vandalised the trailer and threw broken pieces of glass at the police team and even bit some of them, the official told PTI.
Four policemen were injured in the attack, the official told PTI.
An offence under sections 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code was registered, the official told PTI, adding that a manhunt has been launched for the other two accused.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old truck driver was allegedly beaten to death by some people in the wee hours of Monday near Durgadi fort in Kalyan township in Thane district of Maharashtra, police told PTI.
The trigger behind the violent attack is not known immediately, an official told PTI, adding that the incident occurred at around 4:40 AM.
The deceased has been identified as Bolakumar Deepak Mahato, a native of Jharkhand who was living in Navi Mumbai, the official told PTI.
The exact number of people involved in the attack is being ascertained and the process to register an offence is underway.
In another case, a 35-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly strangling his 10-year-old mentally-challenged daughter to death in their house in Thane district of Maharashtra a day before, police told PTI on Monday.
The couple has four daughters, aged between 5 to 14, and the youngest of them lives with her grandparents in their native village, a police official told PTI.
The accused Manoj Agrahari allegedly strangled his daughter, Lovely, at their home in Dombivli when other members had gone out, an official told PTI quoting the FIR.
