The Ulhasnagar Crime Branch has solved the murder of a 48-year-old man, Ramesh Jha, and arrested his three alleged killers as well as the deceased's wife. The trio were nabbed at Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi.
The police, during the investigation, found that Jha's wife, Suman, and her boyfriend, who is absconding, gave a supari of Rs 30 lakh to three accused who came from Delhi to kill the deceased. Jha resided in Ambernath and was employed by a private firm while Suman lived in Delhi with their children. By the end of 2023, she had started living with her husband in Ambarnath. According to the police, Jha's body was found on February 25 near a petrol pump on a stretch between Ambarnath and Badlapur.

"A parallel investigation into the incident was started under the guidance of Raju Sonawane, senior police inspector, Ulhasnagar Crime Branch. The police traced Jha's family, a case was registered at Ambarnath police station and the investigation was started," said a police officer. Finally, based on information received through an informant and technical analysis, officials succeeded in solving the murder within 48 hours.

"After checking CCTV footage and other details, we found that the accused had fled to Delhi. Accordingly, we prepared a team and reached Delhi to take the help of the local police. The three were detained from Delhi, while one person is absconding," said a police officer. The cops said the accused arrested in Delhi are Deepak Kumar, Sanjay Kumar and Santosh Gupta who were brought to Ulhasnagar.
The police, while questioning the accused, learnt that Suman and the absconding accused, Dharmaveer, had hatched the murder plot in a lodge in Delhi. All four accused have been handed over to the Ambarnath police who are investigating the matter.
