Two men on a bike snatched the gold chains of a 75-year-old senior citizen in Thane district.
According to the police officials, the incident happened on Tuesday morning when the woman and two of her relatives were trying to catch an auto to visit the Murlidhar temple in the area.
The gold chains were worth Rs 1.8 lakh, as per the information shared by the victims with the police official.
The station house officer of Bhiwandi City police station stated, "Two men came on a bike, and the pillion rider snatched two gold chains worth nearly Rs 1.8 lakh from the woman before speeding away. It happened in a split second."

"No arrests have been made yet," the police official added.
More details on the case are awaited.
Meanwhile, in another incident in Thane, a total of 16 vehicles, including three cars, were gutted after a fire broke out in the parking area of a residential complex in the early hours of Wednesday, civic officials said.
"No one was injured in the incident that took place at the housing society in the city's Panchpakhadi shortly after midnight," said Yasin Tadvi, chief of Thane civic body's Disaster Management Cell.
"The fire started around 12.45 am at the P1 level of the two-floor parking lot of the building, situated close to the headquarters of the Thane Municipal Corporation," he said.
The official added, "A fire engine was sent to the spot and it was put out by 1.30 am."
