In the early hours of Saturday, a fire broke out in a garbage bin in Thane's Mumbra area.
Around 03:56 am, the Disaster Management Cell was alerted by the Mumbra Fire Station about the fire near Vista Valley Building, located in M. M. Valley behind the cemetery in Kausa, Mumbra.
"The source of the blaze was identified as a heap of garbage that had somehow ignited, posing a potential threat to the vicinity," the civic official said.
A team of firefighters, equipped with a fire-fighting vehicle and a rescue vehicle, reached the scene to combat the fire.

According to the official, no injuries were reported at the scene. The firefighters managed to doused the fire by 04:20 am, informed the civic official.
The Mumbra Fire Station, along with the Disaster Management Cell, acted swiftly, containing the fire.
In another incident, in Thane, on Friday monring, the Disaster Management Unit received a tree fall incident information near Cadbury Junction.
The Disaster Management Unit deploying a team along with a pick-up vehicle to address the incident. Accoring to the official, there were no reported injuries or casualties resulting from the incident.
The fallen tree was cut and removed from the road.
