A Thane teen allegedly ended his life; his parents claim that he was being bullied at school, police said on Thursday. According to a report in PTI, the deceased was 13 years old and lived in Bhiwandi town in Thane district.
The PTI report quoted the official saying that the incident happened in Bhiwandi's Madhav Nagar area on Wednesday evening.
Per the report, the deceased Thane teen was identified as Sajid S; he studied in Grade 6 at a local Madrassa school and had complained to his parents upon his return from school that some boys were bullying him.
The police have registered a case of accidental death and sent the Thane teen's body for autopsy.

The police official told PTI that the exact reason behind his grave step is yet to be ascertained and added that a probe is currently underway.
In another incident, on Saturday, the police in Thane district arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly aiding in the suicide of a college student. Police are searching for the other five classmates of the deceased, according to Inspector Pramod Babar of Murbad police station, as reported by PTI.
The six are accused of stripping the 17-year-old college student, photographing him naked, and tormenting him on February 21 at a farmhouse in Umroli village, the report added.
Reportedly, the deceased had sent one of the suspect's partners a message on the social media site Instagram which infuriated him.
"While harassing him, the accused showed him the Instagram message," the official told PTI and added that the day after the incident, he ended his life by jumping into a well in Umroli hamlet.
The official further added that a note retrieved from his mobile phone outlined harassment as the reason for his death. On February 24, the police filed a complaint against six suspects. While the farm owner has been arrested, the authorities are seeking for the remaining five, he said, per the PTI report.
In another case from Mumbai, on Tuesday evening, a 42-year-old Mumbai police officer who was suffering from depression ended his life in suburban Kalina, according to an official report. According to a Vakola police station official, the Assistant Police Inspector (API), Prahlad Bansode, hung himself on the rooftop of police quarters.
