Two bodies were found at Girgaon Chowpatty and near Malabar Hill on Tuesday, the police said. Both the bodies were of men in a semi-naked state, they said. While they were yet to be identified at the time of going to print, autopsies attributed the deaths to drowning, said the police.
Sources said the DB Marg police were informed around 3 am that a person in a maroon shirt was lying on the Girgaon seafront. The cops found the person motionless. They sent the body to Sir J J Hospital for post-mortem. Five hours later, the Malabar Hill cops were alerted about a body between the rocks on the seashore in their jurisdiction. The man had a blue shirt on him. This bod was also sent to JJ hospital.
Police sources said they are trying to find out if there is any link between the men. Apart from scanning the footage of CCTV cameras on roads and lanes leading to the scens, they are also talking to locals for clues. "The post-mortem reports say that the cause of death is drowning. We are trying to identify them," said a police officer.
