The Ratnagiri district Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has filed a disproportionate assets case against the Uddhav Thackeray faction MLA from Rajapur, Rajan Salvi, along with his wife Anuja Rajan and son Shubham Rajan Salvi. The ACB alleges that Salvi possesses properties valued at Rs 3.58 crore, exceeding his reported income by approximately 118.96 per cent, as revealed during the investigation.
The ACB team raided his office, house, official bungalow, hotel, and other related places in Ratnagiri district while carrying out the search operation. Around seven teams of the ACB, comprising officers from Ratnagiri, Thane, and Navi Mumbai, were involved in the raid. All documents and other valuables have been seized.

A case has been registered against the MLA and his family under the sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, at Ratnagiri police station, and further investigation is underway.
Sunil Lokhande, Superintendent of Police, ACB Thane, confirmed the development and said, "Our teams are investigating, and if we find any more documents related to excess property, action will be taken accordingly."
"From October 2009 to December 2, 2022, considering documented income, expenses, and assets, it is evident that 188.96 per cent of misappropriated property has been obtained. As there's no satisfactory disclosure submitted, a case has been filed against him, his wife and son," he added.
Sena (UBT) leader Rajan Salvi has been repeatedly questioned by ACB sleuths
"For over a year, the ACB has been probing the case. Rajan Salvi has been repeatedly summoned and questioned by ACB officials. Documents linked to his undisclosed income were seized during the investigation. Property in the names of his wife and son was also discovered," stated an ACB official.

The official further stated that "During the investigation, it became apparent that his wife and son were aware of the misappropriation, intentionally held the property in their names, and encouraged Rajan Prabhakar Salvi to commit the crime."
Political Connection
Vinayak Raut, MP from Uddhav Thackeray's faction, said, "The action from ACB is a political conspiracy to harass Rajan Salvi. As he is not ready to join the Eknath Shinde faction."
Sushma Andhare, a prominent figure in the Uddhav Thackeray faction, asserted, "Whenever the party makes a strategic move, swift action is taken against our members. After Uddhav Thackeray's Sabha in Khed, we saw the arrest of Sadanand Kadam and subsequent actions against Suraj Chavan. Similarly, action has been taken against Rajan Salvi after the successful Janta Nyalyay in Mumbai.
Former Mayor and Uddhav faction leader, Kishori Pednekar, remarked, "The public knows about the raids and the actions taken against Rajan Salvi. However, questions now arise about the leaders who joined the Shinde Faction and now serve as ministers - are they considered clean? People also want to know who is orchestrating actions against us and why the pressure tactics seem targeted."
